The Government Accountability Office (GAO) recently released their report that reviews grant programs funded through HHS and DOJ that support behavioral health services for minor and adult survivors. GAO highlights the use of leading practices to administer the programs and gives some reccomedations to better their efforts. 

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) within the Department of Treasury recently issued a notice to financial institutions to be aware of possible increased financial transactions ahead of the World Cup games in host cities. Learn about FinCEN here.

The Department of Homeland Security, through their Blue Campaign within the Center for Countering Human Trafficking, will host their symposium on anti-human trafficking this August. This year's theme is Action is the Solution. Learn more about the Blue Campaign here. 

July 30 is the United Nations World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. This year's theme addresses a rapidly expanding form of trafficking where traffickers exploit victims to participate in industry-scale fraud through online scam operations.  

A recent report from Congress's research arm, Congressional Research Service, examines gaps in measuring and collecting U.S. human trafficking data. The report highlights a fractured collection method that results in massive underreporting. The report ends with policy considerations to create a standard data collection method. Reports from CRS are nonpartisan and use both qualitative and quantitative data in its reports.
